Our Mission

“The Brandon Family YMCA is a charitable association dedicated to providing quality programs and services for all individuals in the development of “Spirit Mind and Body.”

The YMCA In Our Community Since 1886

The Brandon Family YMCA first opened in Brandon in 1886. Our first YMCA building was built in 1905. The current YMCA facility was built in 1966.

In November of 2007, the YMCA Board of Directors announced plans to renovate & expand the current Y facility. Click here for more information.

Outdoor Community Pools

The Brandon Family YMCA operates two outdoor community pools: the Kinsmen Centennial pool and the Kiwanis YMCA Keystone community pool, in addition to the YMCA facility pool.

Paddle Pools

The Brandon Family YMCA operates all of the city's community paddle pools and the spray park.

YMCA in Brandon Schools

The "Y & School Program" is a community program that is run by the YMCA in seven Brandon schools. 

Caring for Children

The YMCA in Canada is the largest provider of child care services. In 2003, the Brandon Family YMCA opened a 24-space licensed daycare facility. In September of 2006, we opened a second centre at the corner of 34th St. and Victoria Ave. “Y West Early Learning Centre“ has 8 infant spots as well as 24 pre-school spots.
Our newest centre, Y New Era Early Learning Centre opened in the fall of 2007. The centre is for 3, 4, & 5 year olds within the New Era catchment area. In November, 2009 we opened “Y South Early Learning Cente“ with a capacity of 96 preschool and 8 infant spots. Y South is the largest child care centre in Western Manitoba.

The YMCA operates Before & After School recreational child care sites at 11 Brandon Schools to help working parents.

Caring for All

Most importantly, the Y offers its services to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.
