Y Kids Are Fit

This class is designed to teach youth the basics of the Life Fitness Centre with a supervised instructor. From cardio to weights.

Hanging Around (Beginner)

6 - 12

Is a beginner level climbing class that gives children a chance to learn the basics of climbing, rock wall techniques, and climbing games. By the end of this class children will have learned that there is nothing more fun to do than hang at the top of the wall.

Climbing to New Heights (Intermediate)

6 - 12

Is an intermediate climbing class that challenges participants to climb to new heights by learning how to climb the intermediate and advanced wall. Climbers will build on their climbing techniques learned in previous classes. Climbers must have taken the beginner level climbing class before taking this intermediate class.

Children are able to try a variety of fun filled recreational games and sports to help them stay active.

Children will get put into teams to see who can conduct the science experiments within the time allotted as well as complete science building activities.

Children will get a chance to learn how to be a spy by participating in theme related science activities, games, and crafts.

Zumbatomic (Zumba for Kids)

6 - 12

Zumbatomic is a dynamic cardio dance class for kids filled with Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves.

Hit the Ground Running

8 - 14

This program will teach children the basics of running, breathing, and stretching. Childrenw will work toward completing a 5 km run. This class will consist of weekly walk/run drills and includes strength and flexibility training.

Leaders in Action  (Members Only)

10 - 14

The Leaders in Action Program is a leadership and mentorship program for youth where they can develop the knowledge and skills necessary to lead programs with children at the YMCA and meet other youth their age. Youth will also learn about relevant issues that are affecting them today as a teen.

All Around the World

Children will get a chance to visit different countries around the world exploring cultural food, games, and activities.

Dodge Ball

Every class begins with basic warm-ups and stretching, and then gets into some serious dodgeball fun. Classes will play different variations of Dodgeball throughout the session.

Superheroes

Come and learn what it takes to be a superhero. Kids will get a chance to participate in superhero activities such as creating their very own superhero, completing superhero obstacles, and making their very own superhero costumes. Kids will look at popular superheroes and learn about local superheroes.

Saturday Morning Mania

6 - 12

Saturdays at the Y are kids' days. Come and join us for an hour of swimming, and hour of low organized games, and an hour of crafts.
