Building for the Future

Strengthening our Core
The world of today presents increasing demands on kids, families and communities, challenging us more than ever to maintain healthy minds and bodies. Fortunately, since 1886, the Brandon Family YMCA has built a strong history of providing the opportunity for life-long personal growth for people of all abilities, backgrounds and beliefs.
The Y has always been in the heart of the city and for that reason has chosen to remain in the city’s core and be part of its revitalization. In partnership with the City of Brandon, senior levels of government and private donors, the YMCA of Brandon plans to create a full-service community recreation centre in the very heart of our city.
The project will have a total cost of $17 million for the complete redevelopment of our existing facility and new construction. The YMCA of Brandon's contribution will be $5.6 million range (fundraising & financing combined). The City of Brandon is committed to $5 million. The federal and provincial governments have committed $6.4 million. The YMCA will raise $5.6 million with a community campaign.

Words from Our Donors
"The Brandon Family Y has been a key part of my active life for 50 years; and it is wonderful to know that our YMCA has been contributing to the health of our community for a much longer time. The stage is now being set for the Y to serve the well being of future generations." Edward Mazer
